Our Motivation
My name is Ann Muraya.I earned my RN from Metropolitan Community College-Penn-Valley Campus and a BSN from Northwest Missouri State University. I have been a community nurse for 10+ years. I enthusiastically lead a team that is passionately serving the Kansas City community through Truman Ridge Adult Day Center. Here at Truman Ridge, we are devoted to our participants’ wholeness. We are fully committed to treating everyone in our sphere with warmth, compassion, love, and respect. My joy and delight is to see our participants thriving right in the comfort of their own homes. Truman Ridge Adult Day Center goes far above and beyond to ensure that this is attained. Service to our community is my utmost honor.

Hi Ann, I’m so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Ann Muraya, a child of God, born and raised in Kenya, a beautiful country in East Africa. I came to the US in 2007 to attend college. This was my dream throughout my high school years at Naivasha Girls Secondary School….

Truman Ridge Adult Day Program located at 5811 E Truman RD KC MO 64126 is a health and social day center licensed by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services since 2018. Our services are available to Medicaid eligible participants who meet the level of care and have been approved to participate. Participants are also welcome to join on a self-pay basis. Call 816-896-1266 to request pick up for a free day visit to see if this program is compatible with your needs.
The goal is to 1. provide the disabled and elderly population an opportunity to get out of the house and receive both mental and social stimulation as well as the continuing care they need. 2. Provide caregivers with a much-needed break in order to work, attend to personal needs or just rest and relax! In the process institutionalization is delayed or eliminated and emergency room visits are reduced.
Our competent staff checks blood pressures and blood sugars daily or as needed. RN on site daily for assessments, education, medication administration, advocating etc. to ensure optimal health outcomes.
A hearty healthy breakfast lunch and snack is prepared and served daily, with special accommodation per request.
We are open Monday through Friday from 7am to 5pm. Holidays observed are Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year.

All care providers must have a servant’s heart as well as pass the family care registry background check. This background check is performed every 90 days.
We offer a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. They include bingo, music therapy, fitness equipment with assistance, birthday parties, holiday outings, free laundry, shower if needed, hearty healthy meals, pool games, spades tournament, bowling outings, shopping outings, summer BBQ's and picnics, indoor WII, classes daily at 2pm, game Fridays, karaoke, weekly party, weekly trip to the dollar tree, assistance with housing, RideKC application, food stamps applications, furniture and so much more!
Yes. We also assist with doctor’s appointments, medications pick up and accessing important resources in our community. We can pick up and drop off anywhere in Kansas City MO.
Services are funded by Medicaid or weekly self-pay basis. Self-pay rate is between $50 and $80 a day depending on needs.
